Private equity clients often demand industrial advisors who through their industry knowledge, network and gravitas can potentially bring deal ideas to the Fund.  Montagu provides Industrial advisors to PE houses.  Typical client is mid-size buy-out firm with European and US.

Process is either short with client proposing candidates to be reviewed and benchmarked or longer with full search:
Review proposed list of candidates from client.
Carry out independent assessment
Make recommendations based upon client’s wishes
References carried out on proposed board candidates.  Importance of thorough due diligence cannot be underestimated
Ownership structures vary. Some owners want specific skills in their board. Areas of expertise. Industrial leaders or they are looking at the network that the individual is bringing to the table and how that may assist strategically for the future of the organization.

As an international certified director from the business school INSEAD and with experience from boards.  Rachel has been active in various boards from professional services, consulting, charity, finance and retail. She has also been chairing remuneration committee and nomination committee. Rachel has the required experience to be able to connect to her clients and understand their needs and challenges.  She is aware of the dynamics at play and the importance of diverse board composition that adds value to shareholders whilst retaining solid corporate governance.
